Cadillac Machine
The Pilates Cadillac is one of the most important and widely used pieces of equipment in the Pilates world. Considered an essential component of most professional studios, it supports a broad spectrum of strengthening, mobility, and rehabilitation-focused exercises. The Cadillac is particularly effective for leg and knee work, spinal mobility, and deep core conditioning.
With more than 80 classical exercises possible on this apparatus, the Cadillac engages the entire body while promoting balanced strength and flexibility. Its springs, bars, and trapeze attachments enable dynamic movement patterns that enhance shoulder and back strength, release muscular tension, and improve postural alignment. Because Cadillac exercises are generally more complex than standard Pilates movements, the supervision of a qualified instructor is recommended to ensure safe and effective practice.
The Cadillac is also widely used in physiotherapy and rehabilitation centers. Its adjustable spring resistance allows clinicians to support recovery, restore functional movement, and strengthen targeted muscle groups. Athletes—especially runners—benefit from the Cadillac's spring-based leg exercises, which help develop posterior knee tendon strength and lower-body stability.
In addition to the traditional Cadillac, combination models known as Cadillac Reformers are available. These units integrate both Cadillac and Reformer functionalities, offering greater versatility and supporting more than 750 exercises on a single machine.
The Pilates Cadillac—whether in its classic form or a combination model—remains one of the most comprehensive tools for building strength, improving flexibility, and refining full-body movement control.
